Innovation District Urban Housing Riyadh, KSA

This 74-unit family housing is a prototype for the new Technology & Innovation District in Diriyah Gate ll development. The design creates a place and experience that reflect Saudi culture, fostering a wholistic approach to the built environment that also represents the uniqueness of Riyadh and the Najd culture, environment and climate. It embraces the broader perspectives of urban planning, that provides a vision for the Saudi community today and of what that community could be in the future. Below are a set of principles for urban planning, open space, built form and contextual urban design that have guided our design approach. These values and principals embrace the framework of Najd Architecture and Urban Planning that include: Efficiency, Climate Control, Pleasant Walkable Environments, Sustainability, Communal Values, and Places for both Social Interaction and Privacy.
