Luxe Sea Community Center Hainan, China

A new 3200m2 multi-use complex in the heart of a new resort development on the island province of Hainan, China, the nation’s southernmost point. Known for its tropical climate, beach resorts and forested, mountainous interior the new facility is located on a hillside with views of the 108 meter tall Guanyin of Nanshan statue. Designed around a sunken water garden and pool the building has large overhangs and abundant shaded porches that induce airflow thru the buildings many public spaces. Spaces include a 200 seat auditorium, galleries, multi-purpose rooms, conference and meeting rooms, dining facility, cafe, as well as administrative offices.
